The role
As a Configuration Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Join our team and contribute to the vital task of maintaining Configuration Management for our facilities and assets. Day-to-day, you'll ensure effective Configuration Management for facilities and assets by overseeing document control, facilitating management activities, and administering essential tools to support these processes.

  • Support the maintenance of the Devonport Royal Dockyard Codes and Standards Library.
  • Facilitate the Design Review process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with Configuration Status Accounting, including Master Record Index (MRI) checks and audits.
  • Conduct quality checks on design and safety documentation and metadata.
  • Maintain and update relevant Business Management System (BMS) processes, resolving configuration issues and queries.

This role is full time 35, hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Configuration Engineer

  • Knowledge of industry Codes and Standards.
  • Document management experience in a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and prioritisation skills with a flexible, proactive approach.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Vault, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of relational database methodology.

Qualifications for the Configuration Engineer

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
