Location: Stratford, London or Trafford, Manchester
Persona: Agile / Hybrid (1-2 days in the office, 3-4 days working from home)
Salary starts from: London Weighted £35,951 pa or Outside London/Regional based £32,188 pa depending on experience and location

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join our specialist in-house Risk & Insurance Team as a Liability Claims Handler. We have a £20bn insurance programme arranged on a largely self-insured basis and are looking for an individual with experience of handling public liability claims either within the insurance industry or a related role.
This position would also suit a legal executive or similar who is looking for a company where they can fully utilise their skills. You will be part of a sector leading team and will help us to develop our in-house capabilities and match our drive for continuous improvement.
Reporting to the L&Q Insurance Solicitor, you will provide support to the in-house management of public liability claims.
The main responsibilities of the Claims Handler - Liability include:
• Investigating liability on cases
• Establishing claim reserves
• Assessing and negotiating claims
• Ensuring adherence to agreed procedures and best practice
The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and experience:
• Understanding legislation and legal liability
• Knowledge of the CPR and litigation processes
• Ability to interpret and apply policy information
• Investigative, evaluative and negotiation skills
• Previous experience handling liability claims
• Case management and diary use
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good communicator both orally and in writing
• Good team working skills
• Results orientated
