Crynodeb
Main duties and accountabilities: 1) To provide psychological therapy to adults with Depression and / or related conditions, including delivery of ADepT. This is likely to involve: a) Arranging initial and ongoing appointments with clients. b) Conducting initial assessment or telephone screening sessions where appropriate. c) Delivering these therapies according to the relevant protocol(s). d) Keeping appropriate records of the work conducted. e) Liaising with referrers and other health care professions and external agencies as necessary for effective patient care. 2) To be familiar with, and work within, professional standards and guidelines, relevant legal frameworks and the operational protocols of the AccEPT clinic, including policies on information governance and safeguarding of vulnerable individuals. 3) To engage in reflective practice, including attendance of regular clinical supervision; to engage in professional development and necessary training. 4) To contribute, where appropriate, to the evaluation and development of protocols for the delivery of therapy and the training of clinicians and students. For example:- - Use appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods, where appropriate contribute to the supervision of student projects and placements; - Select appropriate assessment instruments and criteria, assess the work and progress of students / clinicians by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students; - Ensure that module design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the university and Faculty 5) Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement and contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material. 6) Where agreed with the clinic lead or his / her delegate, to contribute to the dissemination of clinical knowledge on behalf of the AccEPT service, and to liaise with external stakeholders regarding the work of the service (including supervision and training of other therapists). 7) To participate in, and take forward, service audit and evaluation procedures. 8) To represent the AccEPT Service in relevant professional organisations (e.g.BABCP) to ensure that the AccEPT Service maintains awareness and links with a broad range of services and issues. 9) To be a good team player, who supports and contributes to the morale and development of the team. 10) To undertake appropriate training and supervision in order to maintain professional registration and/or accreditation as required by the University Liaison and Networking Participate in and develop external networks, for example to secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities. Managing people 1. Mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on professional development 2. Co-ordinate the work of others to ensure clinical care is delivered to the standards required. Initiative, problem-solving and decision-making 1. Identify the need for refining therapy protocols with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved. 2. Develop ideas for generating income and promoting the area. 3. Sole responsibility for the design and delivery of work 4. Contribute to quality control processes. 5. Tackle issues affecting the quality of delivery within scope of own level of responsibility, referring more serious matters to others, as appropriate. Planning and managing resources 1. Co-ordinate with others (such as support staff or academic colleagues) to ensure clinical care is delivered to a high standard. 2. Be responsible for administrative duties in areas such as liaising with patients and their care teams, maintaining patient records and booking therapy rooms. The post is conditional upon the post-holder obtaining a suitable outcome from an enhanced DBS check with adult barred list, conducted by the University of Exeter, prior to commencing employment. The post holder will be subject to regular repeat DBS checks whilst in post, in line with University of Exeter and NHS guidelines. The post holder is expected to work primarily onsite (Streatham campus of the University of Exeter); some degree of remote working may be possible subject to line manager agreement.
