Summary

Role Overview: We are looking for Tree Surveyors to join our team. The primary responsibility is to manage the risks associated with trees near road networks and building structures. This includes conducting regular risk assessments to determine the safety of trees and taking necessary actions if they pose a danger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular tree surveys, particularly during the leaf-on season (June, July, August).
  • Assess the safety and stability of trees and recommend removal if necessary.
  • Record data on a tablet/mobile phone, specifically focusing on Ash trees and Ash Dieback Disease.
  • Work along footpaths, tracks, and roads to capture data.
  • Adapt to varying workloads depending on different areas.
  • Collaborate in teams of 2-3, depending on the location.
  • Provide data and insights to help determine appropriate rates for services.
  • Undertake surveys on foot on footpaths, grass verges, hard shoulders, or within traffic management.
  • Participate in office-based risk assessments to determine parking locations, walking routes, etc.
  • Follow and lead the risk assessment process.

Requirements:

  • No extensive previous experience required; training will be provided.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the environment.
  • Exposure to similar environments is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications or working towards them in related subjects.
  • Any previous experience directly related to the role would be beneficial.
  • Availability to work 5 days a week.
  • Experience working on high-speed roads or in similar environments requiring situational awareness.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to follow a written plan/risk assessment.
  • Good level of fitness.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Driving Licence.
  • Interest/experience in Arboriculture.
  • Ability to plan a survey and prepare risk assessments.
  • Familiarisation with Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8.
