Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced SIA Door Supervisor/Close Protection (DS/CP) Trainer to join our Training and Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training courses to individuals seeking to obtain their SIA licenses for Door Supervision and Close Protection roles. The trainer will ensure that all training complies with the SIA’s standards and regulatory requirements, providing learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles within the security industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Training Courses: Conduct SIA-approved Door Supervisor and Close Protection training courses, including both theoretical and practical components.
Course Preparation: Develop, update, and maintain training materials, lesson plans, and resources to ensure they are current and meet regulatory standards.
Assessment: Administer and grade assessments, providing constructive feedback to learners to support their development and ensure they meet the required competencies.
Compliance: Ensure all training activities comply with SIA standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, assessments, and certifications.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry developments and SIA regulations to continually improve the quality and relevance of training.
Student Support: Provide guidance and support to learners, addressing any queries or concerns they may have about the training or their future roles.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Training Manager and other trainers to ensure consistency and quality across all training programs.
Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all participants.
Qualifications and Experience:
SIA Trainer Certification: Must hold a valid SIA Trainer certification for Door Supervision and Close Protection.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the security industry, with hands-on experience in Door Supervision or Close Protection roles.
Teaching Qualification: PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) or equivalent teaching/training qualification.
Assessor Qualification or unit: CAVA, AET, AVRA
Qualifications required for DS/CP Trainers: Level 3 Conflict Management, Level 3 Physical Intervention, Level 3 First Aid at Work, PI Licence
Additional Qualifications required for CP Trainers: Level 3 Physical Intervention for Close Protection, PI Licence for Close Protection
SIA Licenses: Must hold current and valid SIA licenses for Door Supervision or Close Protection.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of SIA regulations, security procedures, and best practices.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and informative training sessions.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with learners and provide effective support.
Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training courses and responsibilities effectively.
IT Skills: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software for training purposes.
Up to date CPD record: Minimum of 40 CPD hours per year relevant to security industry
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing training materials and lesson plans.
Experience in conducting online or virtual training sessions.
Additional certifications in related security disciplines.
Work Environment:
Training sessions may be conducted in various settings, including classrooms, training centres, and practical outdoor environments.
Occasional travel may be required to deliver training at different locations.
