This is an incredibly exciting time to be part of a new cyber security capability. As a security or intelligence professional, you will have an unparalleled opportunity to apply your skills, shape team activities, and gain significant exposure to senior decision-makers. What’s more, your work will make a real difference in protecting both UK citizens and society as a whole, through the use of your skills to protect vital services.
Are you ready for a challenge?
Like many parts of government, DCMS is wholly reliant upon technology to meet its mission requirements and deliver vital services to the public. Due to the nature of the organisation and broad range of credible threats faced, seeking to exploit its services for financial or political gain, it is crucial the department maintains a strong defence.
This is a highly visible role. Working closely with internal and external partners, you will act as the front line against such threats, carrying out vital work that seeks to identify and respond to potential compromise through the monitoring of key systems.
Additionally, you will act as an authoritative source of technical expertise on matters of cyber defence, where your input will be greatly valued.
You will also play a central role in the department’s cyber incident coordination activity, establishing clear processes that will be at the heart of DCMS’s cyber response effort.
