At the Environment Agency, we go above and beyond when it comes to diversity - seeking out new perspectives and promoting inclusivity.

Our Field Operations teams protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our Flood & Coastal Risk Management assets and responding to flooding and environmental incidents on the ground. They are part of our ambition to deliver a world class asset management service.

The Field Operations Management and Maintenance Advisor has a vital role improving the effectiveness of delivery of our circa £5 million river and asset maintenance programme. They assure compliance with policy, and safe ways of working. In this role you will:

• Work across local FCRM Operations teams to manage and co-ordinate successful completion of our maintenance programme.
• Have oversight of specialist skills and training needed to safely deliver the maintenance programme, operate our assets and for incident response.
• Support Field Team Leaders by providing leadership of change and improvements within field teams (e.g. Health Safety & Wellbeing initiatives, ways of working) and by carrying out assurance.
• Work with peers and national colleagues ensuring our risk management & safety standards are being maintained and improved.
• Assure compliance with statutory obligations, such as Reservoirs Act and CDM Regulations.
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies in our outcomes, including alternative delivery options and community engagement.

You will support our response to incidents by having an incident role (either ‘incident activated’ or part of our standby roster for incident response over a 7-day period – for which you’d receive additional pay).
