Shift Hours: Approx 8AM-12PM


Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a dedicated team? Edsential is seeking an Absence Coordinator to join our Catering Team, where you will play a crucial role in managing absence management activities and ensuring our services are seamlessly covered.

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Catering, you will be the first point of contact for absence management activities, coordinating effectively to guarantee service continuity and appropriate management of employee absences.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for absence management activities and queries within the team.
- Manage the central absence telephone line and cover desk, organising cover as required.
- Monitor and maintain the central inbox for absence notifications, ensuring all data is processed confidentially and accurately.
- Ensure all absence information on the Selima system is up to date and properly managed ahead of payroll submission.
- Maintain regular contact with absent employees to understand the reasons and likely duration of their absences.
- Monitor return-to-work trends and address absence triggers, escalating cases as necessary.
- Support the implementation of the Absence Management procedure across the service, ensuring all parties understand expectations and responsibilities.

Ideal Candidate:
The perfect candidate will possess:
- Sound knowledge of absence management processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage confidently with staff at all levels.
- A dependable and self-motivated approach to managing workload independently.
- An acute attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Previous experience working in an office environment is an advantage.
