Summary
Clinical operational leadership Provide visible, responsive leadership across Badgers clinical services, role modelling our Safety, Efficiency, Respect and Quality (SERQ) values at all times Oversight and leadership for day-to-day operational delivery, including capacity, demand and escalation if required Apply operational (and clinical) insight to drive quality improvement and service transformation initiatives focused on efficiency, effectiveness, and patient experience and outcomes Management of the Clinical Department, including ensuring delivery of the Business as Usual and Quality Improvement elements of the Departmental Delivery Plan (DDP) and the facilitating the Clinical Management Group Monitor performance against key metrics, with a proactive approach to both preempting and addressing improvement Designing and communicating clear systems and processes to support consistent service delivery Support organisational growth including identifying opportunities, and supporting tendering and mobilisation as required Build and maintain strong relationships with key partner organisations and stakeholders, enabling joint working and innovative approaches Represent the services/ Badger in external meetings and urgent care networks as required Participation in the on-call manager rota is a requirement of the role Deputising for the Medical Director or Director of Performance and Delivery if required Clinical Operations Manager April 2025 6 Governance Ensure compliance with governance, safety, and regulatory requirements Lead on/ oversight for/ contribution to clinical department audits in collaboration with the Medical Director and the Audit and Compliance Manager Lead on developing, reviewing and maintaining up to date departmental policies, that reflect the needs of patients, staff and services, and align with CQC, contractual or regulatory requirements Infection Prevention and Control lead for the organisation Investigate and close incidents and complaints with a strong focus on sharing learning, improvement and supportive/ constructive feedback Teams and colleagues Oversee workforce deployment, staff wellbeing, and development to ensure a highperforming and engaged team. Line manage Clinical Receptionists, Health Care Support Workers and Medicines Management staff, including workforce planning, recruitment, induction, training and retention Manage student nurse placements Clinical work Clinical work within Badgers services is not included within the job plan, but the option to work clinical shifts can be explored at interview. To work clinically, the postholder would need to be a prescribing registered healthcare professional, operating at Advanced Practice level with experience in urgent care/ urgent primary care.
