Summary
Qlik Platform Administrator Install, configure, and maintain Qlik BI platforms (Qlikview, Qliksense, Qlik NPrinting, and QlikCloud. Manage user roles, permissions, and authentication to ensure data security and compliance with internal policies. Work closely with cybersecurity teams to implement best practices. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the BI environment, working closely with IT support teams as needed. Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to BI users. Apply updates, patches, and upgrades to keep BI platforms up to date with the latest features and security fixes. Maintain version control and ensure backward compatibility of reports. Stay up to date with BI technology trends and recommend improvements that enhance system performance and user experience. Monitor and optimise system performance, ensuring high availability of BI tools and data platforms. Implement data security best practices, including encryption, access control, and auditing mechanisms to ensure that sensitive data is protected. Healthcare & NHS Standards Ensure compliance with NHS and healthcare-related information governance policies, contributing to high-quality patient-centred care. Work with NHS teams to align data standards with national healthcare reporting requirements. Ensure adherence to data governance policies and regulatory requirements related to BI platform usage. Establish standard operating procedures for BI processes. Collaborate with data stewards and compliance teams to enforce data standards, policies, and procedures. Data Engineering & Architecture Contribute to the design of data models that improve reporting efficiency ensuring seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Design and build scalable data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources into BI platforms and data marts. Work with business users and information team colleagues to understand reporting needs, ensuring data marts align with business goals. Act as a consultant to informatics team seeking to enhance their analytics capabilities. Analysing and working with complex data often made up from many significantly inter-related sources Be jointly responsible for the management of extraction, transformation and loading of data (ETL) into and out of the data warehouse, ensuring that data items are stored efficiently for optimal analytical interrogation Assist in the execution of data strategies that align with NHS and organisational objectives, including performance reporting and data-driven decision-making. Support large-scale BI projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction. Maintain technical documentation, best practices, and provide training to end users on BI tools and data marts. Develop user guides and conduct workshops. Design, implement, and maintain BI platforms, data lakes, and data marts to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability. Optimise ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure timely and efficient data ingestion, transformation, and availability for analytics purposes. Use data orchestration tools to automate workflows, monitor jobs, and ensure data pipelines are running smoothly. Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in data mart ETL, including optimising query performance and tuning databases. Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, lineage, and consistency across BI tools and data platforms. Ensure that data models are aligned with business requirements and that data pipelines follow best practices in terms of governance. General Expectations Work closely with the Information Team and key stakeholders to deliver on data engineering requests. Observe assignment priority definitions per Data Warehouse team prioritisation meetings. Observe Information Governance guidance while handling sensitive information. Taking responsibility for own actions and working under minimal guidance from the posts line manager. For the role, it is expected that the post holder will be provided with an outline of each piece of work from their line manager and guidance as to what should be delivered for that piece of work; beyond that, it is expected that the post holder will have sufficient ability and confidence to determine and find their way through the development of that piece of work. Seeking out new ways of working and ideas for system improvements whilst adhering to ICT Policies and Procedures. Pushing at boundaries regarding the introduction of new ideas, tools and techniques that increase the effectiveness of the team to support.
