Job Summary:
Gurdwara Sahib Woolwich is seeking an experienced and skilled Tabla Player to join its Kirtani Jatha of three members. The successful candidate will primarily support Kirtan performances as a Tabla accompanist and contribute to various Sikh religious services in line with Sikh Rehat Maryada (code of conduct).
This position is part of a religious team and will involve performing duties with utmost respect, spiritual commitment, and discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform Kirtan (vocal and instrumental accompaniment) during daily services, events, and special programmes.
• Play Tabla as part of a three-person Jatha for regular and special religious functions.
• Participate in religious services including weddings, funerals, and Akhand Paaths.
• Handle Guru Granth Sahib Ji with respect including duties such as Parkash and Sukhasan.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of Parshad (sacred offering).

Essential Criteria:
• Must be Amritdhari Sikh, committed to Sikh Rehat Maryada.
• Must perform Nitnem (five daily prayers) regularly.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Gurdwara setting.
• Proficient in Tabla playing, with knowledge of classical raags.
• Ability to recite Gurbani melodiously and participate in Kirtan.
• Fluency in Punjabi (spoken, reading, and writing).
• Good interpersonal and social skills; able to engage respectfully with sangat of all ages.
• Basic proficiency in using digital tools like WhatsApp, Email, and Facebook for community communication.
• Knowledge of additional instruments (e.g. harmonium, dilruba) is desirable.
Accommodation and meals will be provided.
