What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you looking for a unique Post 16 school-based role? Are you imaginative, creative, solution-focused and organised? Can you inspire and support our P16 students studying T Levels (vocational qualifications) in contributing positively in the local workforce?

Then the role of Work Placement Officer at Outwood Academy Danum could be the post for you!

At Outwood Post 16 Danum we are at the beginning of our P16 T Level journey in Engineering. From September 2025 our first cohort of students will undertake placements within a unique course, it offers students one day a week industrial placement within a rigorous academic programme to get them ‘ready for work’ when they qualify.

We are looking for an individual who can broker, manage and grow our placement offer with local workforce providers. They must also ensure that the student’s experience is positive and appropriate and will need to safeguard and mentor students on placements through day visits.

For this role you must have good communication skills, be organised, be adaptable and immerse yourself into the school environment. You will work closely with the Senior Director of Science and 6thform lead initially in establishing processes and systems required for this role; this is a completely unique role in our trust; hence you will be at the forefront of shaping the impact from it.

It is not essential for you to know about T Levels, training will be provided. However, it is advisable to have a broad understanding of the L3 qualification spectrum.

If you require any further information in regards to the role please contact Aalok Kanwar (Senior Director of Science)a.kanwar@outwood.com

What the school offers its staff

Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

Principal: Mandy Crane

We are an Ofsted Good rated, 11-18 academy, with a thriving sixth form and a campus undergoing a transformation, based in the friendly, South Yorkshire town of Doncaster.

We are proud to say that our recent OFSTED inspection in 2024 cited that the school is a 'Good' school, identifying how the school is an 'inclusive school' where 'pupils of every background are provided with the opportunities they need to be successful.' We value our staff highly, and have established a truly supportive environment where staff training and well-being is at the heart of all we do. We are focused on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development of our pupils is key so that they can navigate an ever-changing world with confidence and resilience.

We are proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award and to have received the IQM Award recommended as Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, which highlights our commitment to inclusion. We have also recently achieved our Eco Schools award along with our Leading the Way award for meeting all eight Gatsby Benchmarks to support employability for our students.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

If you share our vision, join our family.
