The Department of Urology at University College Hospital is looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Fellow for a fixed term of 12 months from October 2025 in the Reconstructive Urology Department. The successful candidate will be joining the largest and most prestigious Urological Department in the UK. We are a highly specialist department seeing referrals from across the UK and abroad as well as being a centre for excellence and research.
The department offers comprehensive care for the whole spectrum of Urology services and is split into 5 sub-groups, the teams work together closely along with other services such as gynaecology, women’s health, assisted conception unit, oncology and the Uro-radiology.
The subspecialty teams within the Urology Department are:
• Reconstructive Urology
• Functional, Restorative, and Adolescent Urology
• Stones and Endourology (including Lithotripsy)
• Andrology
• Uro-Oncology
You will have the opportunity to gain experience in providing pioneering new treatments and play a key role in ensuring excellent care for patients under the care of the department.
The post holder will provide a safe and effective service for patients under the supervision of the Consultant Urologist. They will undertake theatre lists, clinics and other clinical activities. The post holder will lead on the management of inpatients and undertake on-call for the department as required.
The Clinical Fellow will have primary responsibility for all patients admitted under the Reconstructive service, the day-to-day care of the patients and attend weekly clinics to review new patients, post op and regular follow up patients. This post will have dedicated theatre time with the opportunity to assist and operate under the supervision of the Consultant. The Clinical Fellow is expected to liaise closely with the full range of multi-disciplinary teams involved in the patient’s care. Attendance and taking an active involvement in the weekly MDT meeting is a requirement of the role.
