Duties of the role include but are not limited to: Undertaking CPD in the core subjects of medical emergencies, Infection Prevention control (IPC), disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection, legal and ethical issues and handling complaints, as recommended by the GDC. Managing and supervising referrals to Specialist Practitioners and Secondary Care facilities, liaising with patients to ensure appointments are attended and documentation is returned to the Dental Centre on completion of treatment. Ensuring systems are in place to allow patients to claim approved costs associated with the provision of dental care and work with the unit admin staff to ensure these costs are correctly audited, informing the Regional Headquarters of all expenditure. Managing dental records (electronic and manual). Ensuring the correct receipt, dispatch, registration and storage of health records hastening any outstanding documentation as required.
