Permanent Full Time and part time considered.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the COO, AutonoMe is seeking an efficient and skilled bid writer to join our dynamic Business Development team.
You will lead the bid process, from monitoring procurement portals to identifying suitable opportunities, presenting them to senior colleagues for approval, and preparing all bid and tender documents. You will submit high-quality proposals on time and in line with the buyer’s requirements. This includes managing the bid budget, additional attachments (e.g., policies, project plans, case studies, contract references, etc.), and resources effectively within a nimble start-up environment. The vast majority of the funding we are pursuing comes from Central or Local Government. You will uphold an understanding of market trends within this space and competitor activity to inform bid strategy.

Objectives of this role

Developing and executing bid strategies that align with the company’s goals and the buyer’s requirements.
Coordinating with various teams, including operations, legal and finance, to ensure all aspects of a buyer's requirements are addressed and proposed solutions are deliverable.
Managing bidding budgets, resources and timelines to ensure on-time and high-quality submissions.
Identifying new business opportunities by monitoring public and private sector tender portals.
Maintaining comprehensive and accurate bid documentation, including bid files, records of communication and pricing information.
Participating in negotiation sessions to secure favourable terms and conditions while focusing on project and business sustainability.
Ensuring compliance with buyer requirements, regulations and industry standards.
Monitoring and evaluating bid performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Develop compelling and persuasive bid content, including method statements, executive summaries, value propositions, pricing models and technical responses.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and subject matter experts; ensuring you give enough notice for busy team members to provide you with information promptly so that you can create high-quality deliverable tenders to deadlines.
Coordinate and facilitate bid review meetings to ensure key stakeholders provide input and address any concerns or issues.
Work with senior colleagues to develop competitive project budgets that align with bid requirements and company financial targets.
Ensure bid proposals meet all legal and regulatory requirements, as well as contributing to AutonoMe’s social mission..
Monitor and track bid performance metrics, analysing win/loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Conduct post-bid analysis and debrief sessions to identify areas of improvement and implement lessons learned for future bids.
Continuously refine and improve bid processes, templates and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay updated on industry trends, market insights and emerging best practices in bid management.
