Summary
Band 6 cardiac rehabilitation enhanced nurse practitioners are expert clinicians, having completed a minimum of 4 years post-registration including a minimum of 2 years in cardiac nursing and possessing at least one relevant post-registration qualification. The post holder will act as an autonomous practitioner performing detailed clinical assessment and leading in the care of all patients in their caseload in collaboration with secondary care clinicians, community providers and the wider MDT. They will supervise and train band 3 and band 4 colleagues as well as students and will provide specialist advice to the rest of the MDT. The post-holder will work across Southmead Hospital, Cossham Hospital and within community leisure centres across North Bristol. The post holder will be responsible for implementing and delivering a safe and comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program along with other members of the MDT. They will manage and participate in group exercise programmes for cardiac patients, and will provide exercise advice along with advice for managing cardiovascular risk factors.
