Number on roll 321 including Nursery Following the retirement of our current Caretaker an opportunity has arisen at the Ysgol Bryn Deva site for a reliable and flexible fulltime Caretaker to join our team, who is keen to make a difference and assist with maintaining the premises and grounds to a high standard. The contracted hours will be 30 hours per week, worked between 7am-10am and 3pm - 6pm. With flexibility to work extended hours for termly after school activities and to adjust these hours during the school holidays Ysgol Bryn Deva is a unique site, comprising of a Flying start building, extensive grounds which include a large playing field, two playgrounds, forest school area, sensory garden and multiple entrances. Job overview The ideal candidate will be a seasoned multi-trades person capable of routine property maintenance and repairs. As a self-monitoring role, the successful applicant will be confident in making decisions, time management, working with the School’s Senior Leaders and the Business Manager, prioritising workload and reporting performance to the Business Manager and Headteacher. You will be responsible for the provision of reactive and proactive maintenance support to the school and premises team, school security and maintaining a safe school environment ensuring that the school has a safe and efficient working environment and infrastructure for its employees, pupils and their activities. The successful applicant will be flexible in approach, hardworking and caring. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in recording information is essential as well as is a friendly and courteous manner to pupils, parents, staff, visitors and contractors. This is a physically demanding role and you will be provided with training where necessary. The role of Site Manager is key to the smooth running of our school and essential in our offer of excellence to our families and employees. Why join us?
