Hours: 19.5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year (term time only)

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed ‘Learning Support Assistant’ to support staff in providing an excellent education, strong supervision and quality care of the children at St Mellons CiW Primary School.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be confident, reliable, flexible and should be able to work as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be expected to, support class teachers to promote high standards, contribute to planning and developing a stimulating learning environment. Candidates will also be expected to maintain records. A full list of the roles and duties can be found in the job description.
The team at St Mellons Primary School is dedicated, hardworking and supportive. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of this team, providing enthusiasm, humour and a determination to support each other in providing an excellent school experience for our pupils.
The children at St Mellons CiW School are joyful, determined and successful learners. They like members of staff who are supportive, kind, patient and caring.
The successful candidate should be willing to promote the Christian ethos of the school.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement which brings pay rates up to £12 per hour (scp 2 - 4). This supplement will be reviewed in January 2024 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
