We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Dermatology team as a part-time Band 3 Healthcare Assistant at Watford General Hospital.
Reporting to the Senior Dermatology Specialist Nurse, the successful candidate will receive comprehensive training to become a Dermatology Specialist HCA.
In this role, you will support clinicians in delivering a high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused Dermatology service.
To Assist the Dermatology Consultants, Registrars, Clinical Fellows and Specialty doctors in the smooth running of Dermatology clinics.
To develop an understanding of Dermatology treatments and procedures, including surgical procedures.
To act as a chaperone and assist patients, relatives & visitors with queries and/or mobility needs.
To learn and assist in nurse led treatments including Cryotherapy, Medical Photography, Surgical Woundcare and Leg Ulcer management.

The vacancy is established for 25.5 hours per week, broken down to three day shifts of 8.5 hours each, however, there may be an opportunity to increase to full-time hours.
There may also be some ability to work extra hours on a bank basis as required.
Flexibility will be essential as to the required days of the working week to meet the service needs and as directed by the Senior Dermatology Specialist Nurse.
Once established, the post holder will be expected to demonstrate a good understanding of the dermatology conditions and treatments.
They will be expected to teach other staff and students about these skin conditions and treatments.
They will require good communication skills and be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.
They will be expected to act as a good role model in a professional manner and to maintain continuing professional development in line with Trust's vision and values.
