Woking Hospital | Radiology | Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) | Full Time

Up to £45,000.00 per annum, dependent on experience

37.5 hours per week

As an experienced MRI Radiographer at our hospital. You must hold a PGC in MRI and be registered with the HCPC. You will work effectively, both in a team and independently, providing high quality, patient centred imaging services. You'll work with an established, experienced team, who deliver a wide range of MRI imaging procedures, including specialised studies such as Cardiac MRI and Small bowel enterography.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need a reasonably good amount of availability through the week and be flexible with what hours you can offer.

As an MRI/CT Radiographer, you will:

  • Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent)
  • A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable)
  • Experience in a wide variety of MRI scans, including Cardiac MRI, is highly desirable
  • Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike
  • Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors
  • Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work
  • Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload
  • Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice
  • Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities
  • Supervise and develop junior colleagues
  • Responsible for MRI safety in line with local rules
  • To work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC
  • Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme
  • Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers
  • Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health policy
  • Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential
  • Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes
  • Comply with all Nuffield Health policies and procedures
  • Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements
  • Participate in on call rota
