Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Trust with the safe and effective management of manual handling and back care. This post will report to the Head of Health and Safety and is based within the Trust Health and Safety Team.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with significant experience in manual handling and back care to join the Trust Health and Safety Team.
This post will be based in Nottingham (other options may be available), with work across all Trusts sites to support the Teams in meeting their statutory responsibilities and manual handling needs.
You will require significant experience of producing and delivering training, supported by a relevant training qualification.
You will be required to provide specialist support to the Trust on all aspects of manual handing, providing support for implementing the Trusts Manual Handling Policy.
Knowledge of relevant patient safety and manual handling processes, documents and current legislation is essentialalong withexperience of the practical application of manual handling in a range of environments with a varied patient group.

To provide a specialist manual handling advisory, educationaland support service across Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as part of a Health and Safety Advisory Team.
To support the Trust Learning and Organisational Development Team with the design and implementation of manual handling safety training for all Trust staff.
Providing expert advice across all departments and to the Trust Learning and Organisational Development trainers on all aspects of manual handling in order to assist the Trust in meeting current legislation and best practice guidance. Support Clinical Teams as part of a multidisciplinary approach to meet patient and staff needs across all aspects of manual handling and to promote musculoskeletal health.

Provide specialist support and advice for patient handling across a range of patient handling activities.
Working with the Learning and Organisational Development to assist their trainers with the development of an educational provision for all staff.
Act as role model to promote and improve standards of quality of care for patients by establishing safe systems of work, providing guidance and effective collaboration with relevant practitioners in manual handling processes
Investigation of specific accidents or incidents which involve back care / musculoskeletal health and which are of concern to the trust.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
