Summary
Applications are invited for the post of Junior Clinical Fellow in Intensive Care Medicine at Royal Bolton Hospital.
This post would be suitable for a doctor in their first 5 years of clinical practice with current GMC registration wishing to develop their clinical skills and CV. Previous appointees to this role have given excellent feedback on its educational and training value, and have subsequently moved on to desired training posts.
The Royal Bolton Hospital is a busy acute hospital with an excellent reputation for teaching and senior support.
Please note that Clinical Fellows are paid on a local pay scale that mirrors Doctors in Training pay scales. Basic salary offered for this role is fixed at £49,909 and will not be uplifted beyond that salary point. Where the role requires out of hours working, evening, weekend and on call enhancements will be added according to a work schedule. It is Trust practice that we offer a set salary for this role and variations will not be considered.
Critical Care comprises a 19 bedded mixed unit caring for both level 2 and level 3 patients. We treat around 1,400 patients each year. There is 24-hour cover from a team of consultants in Critical Care Medicine with direct consultant presence on the unit for 16 hours per day. There is a follow-up clinic as well as active audit and research programs.
The Critical Care Unit has been approved by the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine for basic (ST1/2), intermediate (ST3-6) and advanced levels (ST7+). Remuneration will be on the CT1/2 pay scale with an appropriate supplement for out of hours working. A sample work schedule is available on request.
