About us:

Due to Company growth we are seeking to hire an additional Fire and Security Engineer.

We supply and install CCTV, Access Control, AV and Data Networks, Intruder & Fire Alarms

We specialise in the installation of various types of security systems including CCTV Installations, Intercom Systems, Intruder & Panic Alarms, Access Control Systems, Covert Surveillance and Data. We provide a personal, friendly service which means once we have finished the job we will still be around for any queries Clients have and advice they may need. We are BAFE and SSAIB Accredited.

About the role:

Hours of Work are 8.00am to 17.00pm

We are looking for a self-managing, enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic Fire and Security Engineer to join our team, undertaking various pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks and new installation works. Working throughout the Yorkshire region and the UK you will support domestic and commercial clients which could include new installations, some pre-booked service/maintenance and/or emergency call outs throughout Yorkshire and the Humber plus M62 Corridor

You will be an important part of a team servicing fire alarm systems on a variety of sites from small domestic premises to very large Schools and Hospitals. You will be skilled and experienced in producing defect reports to highlight any defects found on systems you have serviced. You will have competent IT skills being able to use a computer and a smart phone for e-mailing, and job completion etc. You will also be well organised and have the ability to pre-plan your jobs liaising with clients to plan your working week in advance.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Installation, servicing / maintenance, testing, commissioning of CCTV Systems
• IP Surveillance Systems and Access Control Systems or related equipment, following drawing of electrical layouts and building plans in accordance with NSI and relevant Codes of Practice/Policies.
• Providing a quality installation in the most methodical and efficient manner, including the ability to digest detailed scope of works and working drawings.
• Liaising with ARC (Alarm receiving centres)
• Production of high-quality commissioning and handover documentation and as fit drawings.
• Maintaining a safe work environment at all times and have a good understanding of Health and Safety i.e. Method/Risk Assessments, safe working procedures etc.
• Client training and demonstration of systems to explain the systems’ working and functionality.
• Responding to out of hours service calls.
• Maintaining effective communication with customers when planning site visits.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced Engineer who has the drive and enthusiasm to provide an outstanding service to our customers every day. Our ideal candidate has:
• A minimum of five + years previous experience
• Excellent general knowledge of CCTV systems
• Fully competent in all aspects of Installation of Intruder & Fire Alarms
• Strong communication skills with a passion for providing first class Customer Service
• Sound administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork and the accuracy and timeliness of submissions
• You will be self-motivated, a team player with excellent customer service skills
• Although training will be provided a fire alarm servicing background is essential
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Knowledge of IP Systems / Networking is preferable.
• Knowledge of any of the following Intruder Alarms, Access control, CCTV and Intercom using a range of equipment including: Paxton, Honeywell, Texecom, Hikvision (Desirable).
• Manufacturers training for any of the following: Paxton, Honeywell, Texecom, Hikvision (Desirable).
• Have the ability and desire to work alone when required, have excellent customer service skills and be confident in a customer facing role.
• As the role is customer facing so you will be well presented with punctuality and politeness being of the highest priority.
• Technical background in the electrical / electronic industry
• A multi-skilled background with experience maintaining and servicing fire and security systems

Additional Info:
Due to the nature of the Fire & Security industry and specific contracts, if successful, we will need to complete a number of background checks including a credit check, five-year referencing history and DBS check. All offers will be subject to successful completion of these background checks.
