Falkirk Council is seeking to recruit an individual for the Family Support Service who is a highly skilled practitioner, committed to delivering the very best experiences for our children and families.
This role involves the successful candidate working within the Family Support Team, in this challenging but rewarding role, you would be provided with regular support and supervision along with development opportunities to grow and enhance your practice.
The support you provide will include building on the existing strengths of the children and families you are involved with. You will encounter children and families that have experienced trauma and disadvantaged in their lives, they have the right to be safe and nurtured, to be listened to respected and included.
You must have the ability to be mobile across the council area, Falkirk Council also offer a hybrid working arrangement of home/office. The council is also open to looking at flexible ways of working including compressed hours arrangements to promote a healthy work/life balance.
Falkirk Council has a Closer to Home Strategy which promotes and focusses on improving outcomes for our children and young people, working in partnership with other agencies to provide quality sustainable services.
Expectations around practice include:
- reflecting critically on their practice within the Family support service.
- being proactive in seeking professional learning opportunities that further enhance their skills and knowledge
- adopting flexible, creative approaches to meet the needs of the children and families
- use professional judgement and initiative
- making good use of professional collaboration with multi agencies and contribute to supporting children’s plans.
- communicating effectively with others both written and verbal, share and assess information in accordance with data protection and childcare legislation.
Successful applicants who progress to the next stage of the recruitment process will be invited to attend an interview which will take place on Friday the 23rd of may and Monday the 26th of May. The interviews will take place in the Leaving Care offices in Falkirk.
You will work 37hours per week.
Successful applicants for posts working with children or vulnerable adults will be subject to disclosure checks or the new PVG scheme.
