Organise, plan and deliver height and weight screening for the DH NCMP, as per standards and guidelines and following completion of relevant competency. Provide clerical and administration support to the school health team, this includes, filing records, letters, answering and responding appropriately to telephone calls from the public and other professionals. Recognise if children are in need of protection and report concerns to the School Nurse in line with Solihull Safeguarding Children Partnership policies and procedures Maintain regular contact with education staff to establish good relationships between the services. Ensure stationery and stores are routinely ordered Respond appropriately to general enquiries from clients and refer when necessary to the School Nurse. Support the team to collect data for audit and evaluations purposes. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Maintain accurate records at all times, ensuring written work is countersigned by trained staff in line with trust policy. Ensure that confidentiality is upheld at all times, as per trust guidelines. Attend the Trust statutory and mandatory training programme specific to the role and ensuring training is completed as per the Trust Essential Skills policy. Pay progression for annual increments is no longer automatic, all staff must have completed all their statutory and mandatory training and they must have had a staff appraisal in the last 12 months. The onus is on individuals to ensure that they meet these requirements. Must possess basic IT skills e.g. able to use Microsoft office/word Must possess basic social media skills to access and post on social media platforms e.g face book, twitter and Instagram. Participate in/access group or team clinical supervision. Participate in and contribute to team/locality meetings to keep up to date with trust information. Measurable Result Areas Undertake the heights and weights for all children in reception and year 6 and ensure data has been inputted onto the national database and that results are generated as appropriate. Signpost to the allocation / School Nurse any children identified as being underweight from the NCMP. Communications and Working Relationships Able to work as part of the skilled mixed team. Able to take messages accurately. Undertake delegated tasks, feedback to a qualified nurse as required and escalate any concerns to the School Nurse. Support the induction of new staff in the school nursing team.
