An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UCLH Nutrition and Dietetic team.
We are looking for a visionary Band 6 Dietitian to support two distinct areas of patient care: Perioperative Medicine Service for adults (0.5wte) and Paediatric Oncology & Haematology including Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) for Paediatrics (0.5wte).

The successful applicant will be based at University College Hospital, part of UCLH NHS Foundation Trust.
Perioperative Medicine (Adults):
The UCLH Perioperative Medicine Service for high-risk patients has developed an integrated pathway to identify high-risk surgical patients early in their journey. The focus is on key medical issues that can be significantly improved before surgery – such as cardiorespiratory fitness and malnutrition.
The successful post holder will hold a leading role in the nutritional management and support the ongoing development to this service.

The post-holder, supported by the dietetic clinical lead, will work alongside the Perioperative Medicine MDT to deliver a service that places patients at the centre of their own care, ensuring continuity, preventing harm, and proactively manage patients to improve outcomes.

Paediatric Oncology & Haematology:

We are a primary treatment centre for a large cohort of children and young people diagnosed with cancers and blood disorders. We operate as a unified cancer centre together with Great Ormond Street, and collectively form the largest children and young people oncology centre in Europe. The Oncology and Haematology service at UCLH consists of two inpatient wards, our paediatric and young adult service for PBT and radiotherapy and the Macmillan teenage day-care unit. Our Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) service provides treatment for a wide range of child and teenage cancers.

The successful post holder will work as part of a specialist children’s cancer multidisciplinary team, and form part of a group of specialist AHP’s including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

The post holder will play a key role in supporting and further developing the existing Paediatric Oncology and Haematology service at UCLH, including the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) dietetic service. Working alongside two full-time Band 7 Paediatric Dietitians, you will collaborate to deliver exceptional care. Strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

The post holder will have a strong team ethos, be a dedicated, skilled and motivated clinician with a wide breadth of experience in oncology, surgery, management of long-term conditions as well as having excellent nutrition support skills.
