What skills and experience we're looking for
Thank you for your interest in applying for the role of Catering Assistant at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School.
At present, we have 208 children on roll aged between 4 and 11 within our School. Our collective goal is to endow a lifelong love of learning in all our students following the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. We strive to develop the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of the child with the values of the Gospel underpinning all aspects of school life.
The Catering Assistant is a key member of the staff team who makes a huge contribution to the smooth and efficient running of school lunch time. You will have experience preferably in a school catering environment and must support the Catholic ethos of the school.

Salary: £12.60 per hour in line with the current Foundation Living Wage
Contract: Fixed Term until 31st August 2026
Hours: 11.25 per week (11:30am – 1:45pm), Term Time only
Required: 9th June 2025 or as near to this date as possible

All posts are subject to: ● DBS ● Medical clearance ● Verification of qualifications and National Insurance number. ● Two references including a judgement about suitability to work with children. ● A member of the interview panel will be trained in implementing Child Protection procedures. ● In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, online search be carried out. For teaching positions, barred list checks and prohibition from teaching checks will be carried out. For leadership positions, section 128 checks will be performed.
