What skills and experience we're looking for

• Can see the strength in difference; who’s as comfortable thinking outside the box as they are building a new one and who knows that teaching is about connection, not just curriculum.
• Isreal. Someone who understands that behaviour is communication; that anxiety is exhausting; that connection is more powerful than correction.
• Doesn’t flinch at a hard day — and who knows that behind every challenge is a young person with a story that matters.
• Believes relationships are the foundation of learning.
• Who can help us create a place where our pupils feel safe, seen and celebrated.
• Embraces creativity over conformity.
• Finds joy in small steps and celebrates every spark of progress.
• Wants to be part of something transformative, not transactional.
• A sense of humour with a curious, open heart.

What the school offers its staff

• An inclusive and collaborative team
• A school where pupils surprise and inspire you daily
• A school where creativity isn’t a buzzword – it’s the heartbeat
• A place where laughter and learning go hand in hand
• A school and growing trust where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career and whose ethos is encompassed in our vision “Learning together in pursuit of happiness”

The Wymering School – where extraordinary young people deserve extraordinary Teachers.

We’re not your typical school, and we’re not looking for a typical teacher. Let’s be honest: this isn’t the easiest job in the world – but it might just be the most meaningful.

About us

At The Wymering School, we’re building something special: a creative community where pupils and staff learntogetherto become knowledgeable, self-aware, independent and happy humans – the kind who go out into the world and make it better, in big and small ways.

Our pupils are neurodiverse, insightful, and full of potential. They experience social communication and interaction difficulties, alongside Speech, Language and Communication Needs, high anxiety, and sometimes distressed behaviour. But that’s not the full story… These young people are also funny, thoughtful, resilient, and brilliantly unique — and they deserve someone that we will create that environment to ensure they progress towards a happy life that they can enjoy.
