A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our enthusiastic and friendly team in Dalweem Care Home for older adults.

Skills & Experience Required

You will be responsible with food preparation for our residents as well as stock rotation and stock control, and the ordering of stock. You will ensure a clean, tidy, hygienic, and safe working environment, follow cleaning schedules and be responsible for cleaning designated areas, working on your own and as part of a team.

You will work in line with agreed infection control standards and regulatory requirements. You will follow the Council's Health & Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures at all times.

Your duties will include preparation of food and beverages, simple cooking, serving meals, general kitchen and dining room duties and cleaning of the kitchen, its surround and equipment.

You must be very reliable, flexible and able to cope with continuous change. Ideally you will have experience of working with older people and members of the public.

The successful candidate must be able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and others to ensure shared goals are achieved. Take responsibility for yourself , customers/service users, contractors and others and ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation. Promote and act as a role model for the Council's values and anti-discriminatory, non-judgmental practice and treat colleagues and customers with dignity and respect.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a comprehensive training programme which will include health and safety, and dementia awareness training.
