Clinical To implement psychological assessments as delegated using interview techniques, psychometric assessments, functional assessment and structured interview/questionnaires under clinical supervision. To implement individual therapeutic and skills building interventions as delegated under clinical supervision. To contribute to group therapeutic interventions as delegated under clinical supervision. To support senior clinicians in preparing material for psychological assessments and individual and group therapeutic interventions. Ensure contemporaneous records are maintained. Promote a team approach to care within a multi-disciplinary framework, involving liaison and effective communication of confidential and sensitive information with other statutory and voluntary agencies. Ensure that the Intensive Positive Behaviour Support Service develops in line with CCHP/AWP core values and outcomes, whilst following government recommendations and public health initiatives. To ensure the legal frameworks relevant to work undertaken within CCHP Learning Disability CAMHS are adhered to and followed To provide liaison, training and support to other external professionals under clinical supervision. To support and work closely with colleagues and other professionals working at different levels. To participate in training and education programmes as required. To exercise awareness of professional responsibilities by making time to study current relative literature and continuing professional development. To participate in Clinical Governance including standard setting and audit as required. To be familiar with current Trust policies and procedures and participate in the development of new policies procedures and guidelines as required. To contribute to service development initiatives as required Teaching and Training To prepare teaching materials for the provision of training to other professional staff and agencies as delegated within iPBS. To assist in the delivery of training in the use of psychological approaches to other professional staff and agencies as delegated within iPBS. Research and Audit To participate in clinically relevant research, service evaluation and audit projects as delegated within iPBS. To provide senior clinicians within the service with information regarding clinically effective interventions by competently undertaking literature reviews, using the internet and library facilities. To work creatively to actively engage service users in service development alongside other members of the Learning Disability CAMHS team. Administrative To be responsible for administrative tasks relating to case-work including keeping case notes, meeting minutes and preparing written reports in line with the Policies and Procedures of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. To carry out such administrative tasks that may be required within iPBS. To manage diary to ensure competent time management and completion of clinical work, research, professional development and attendance of meetings. To attend and contribute to iPBS and LD CAMHS meetings. Professional Development To meet regularly (at least an hour each week) with a senior clinician for clinical supervision. To keep an up to date record of supervision received. To meet with the iPBS Service Lead with a view to constructing, reviewing and updating a Professional Development Plan To undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development activities as agreed with the iPBS Service Lead. To prepare for and make regular Continuing Professional Development presentations to iPBS and LD CAMHS. Professional To be aware of and comply with all policies, procedures and directions of the Department Service and Trust. To seek regular support and clinical supervision from a senior clinician. To participate in individual, group and peer supervision. Clinical Governance: To support the Intensive Positive Behaviour Support Service Lead in the development and implementation of effective Clinical Governance across the Psychology Service. To support and participate in multidisciplinary clinical audit in the service. To promote the use of effective interventions in the service. To participate in Clinical Governance processes in the Service and in the profession. IT Skills: Word processing skills using the Word programme Data input and management skills using the Excel programme Data analysis using the Excel and SPSS programmes Presentation preparation skills using the Power Point programme To gather data relating to clinical activities, input and analyse this under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. Communications and Working Relationships iPBS lead and team Service users and their families and carers LD CAMHS team members Professionals working with children and their families across a range of services Most challenging part of this role Working with distressing situations e.g. family break down, children presenting with challenging emotional and behavioural relationships with their parents and peers. Working with potentially verbally and/or physically abusive clients and their carers risk of aggression towards staff members. A significant amount of driving will be required in order to meet the requirements of this post. Restricted movement for extended periods of time in therapy sessions. Large amount of work at low/floor level with learning disabled children.
