Summary

The role will involve work with PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine across the OUH Trust, and will include weekend working on a rotational basis The PET/CT Service is within the Cancer and Haematology Centre, opened in 2009. Primarily, we provide imaging services across the specialities found on site: Oncology, Radiotherapy, Breast, Renal, Urology, Transplantation, Chest Medicine, upper and lower GI, Head and Neck, Haematology and Infectious Diseases. The PET/CT department provide imaging services to a large catchment area across the south of England, the NM department as well as providing a wide variety of diagnostic service also provide a therapy service in collaboration with the oncology and medical physics teams. Imaging services on site includes 2 GE PET/CT scanners, A New Digital PET/CT scanner is to be installed in the near future and both GE Gamma Cameras are due to be replaced in the next 12 months, with the current systems being replaced with a GE Discovery 870 and a GE Starguide This role will also offer the individual the opportunity to work with a team of radiographers and technologists that work throughout the radiology departments in the Trust, primarily involved in the imaging of both adult and paediatric oncology patients and with a significant involvement in research PET/CT imaging, supporting over 300 research trials in conjunction with outside organisations including CRUK and Oxford University. This role will involve working across different Radiology site and working within Nuclear medicine and PET/CT. The successful candidate would be expected to take an active role in all aspects of the service and role development and training in other areas is available for appropriately motivated individuals.
