Summary
We are in search of a dedicated colleague who exhibits strong potential as a researcher. The successful applicant should be capable of conducting independent research and demonstrating leadership in finance related to research initiatives, including the pursuit of research grants. Their research outputs should meet the high standards necessary for publication in leading journals within Finance, and/or in closely allied academic disciplines such as Economics, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning for Finance.
Moreover, the individual is expected to provide exemplary teaching in our undergraduate and postgraduate programs as designated by the Head of Department. Experience and proficiency in teaching topics such as Risk Management, Fintech, and Machine Learning in Finance would be particularly advantageous. As a member of the academic community, the successful candidate should be prepared to undertake administrative duties and participate in academic citizenship activities, as well as assume academic leadership roles as appropriate.
By joining the Accounting and Finance Department, you will be part of a dynamic group of academics whose research has been published in prestigious journals and who possess extensive experience in supervising PhD students and securing research funding. We foster an environment that promotes academic excellence, encourages mutual support and collaboration, and nurtures the development of emerging academics.
We are committed to constructing and expanding a successful and vibrant academic team engaged in both teaching and research, thereby enhancing the School’s reputation. The appointed academic will be responsible for supervising PhD and Master’s students, as well as those on industrial placements. While a teaching qualification is desirable (/expected at Senior Lecturer level), we are happy to support early-career candidates in obtaining a teaching qualification and fellowship with Advance HE.
