JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator who is a solutions person with the ability to think on their feet with previous logistics and dispatch experience.
Working as the Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator a key aspect of your role will involve a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor. Regular visits will be essential to monitor the progression of customer orders, ensuring they are advancing according to schedule and have successfully cleared quality control. This proactive approach will enable you to identify any potential roadblocks to meeting shipping deadlines, allowing for timely intervention and resolution.
As the Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator you will also be expected to maintain a regular presence within the warehouse. This will facilitate the efficient coordination of product dispatch, including verifying that items have been appropriately packed to safeguard against any damage during transit.
Your responsibilities will also encompass the comprehensive management of logistics, ensuring that all orders are shipped punctually and in accordance with customer expectations.
As a successful candidate you will join a friendly and supportive team who have a common goal of exceeding customer expectations, whether that’s through the manufacturing process, delivery of their orders or general interaction with the business.
DUTIES
This is a dual role and your duties as the Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator include:
Dispatch Coordinator
• Responsible for all items dispatched and received
• Organise and distribute goods in deliveries with other department coordinators and supervisors
• Responsible for the dispatch of all manufactured goods delivered to site or collected by customers
• Work alongside the Factory Manager to ensure delivery dates are met
• Organise and coordinate workload
• Organise and coordinate the movement of manufactured items
• Ensure all items dispatched are correct to works order sheet and delivery notes
• Ensure correct wrapping material is used as per works orders
• Ensure all systems are complete and up to date per as load distribution
• Liaise with other departments
Logistics Coordinator
• Create delivery schedules / dash boards for works orders
• Liaise with site managers for the distribution of items and site requirements
• Work alongside the Contracts team and liaise with clients to ensure delivery date are met
• Organise the distributions of goods with courier companies
• Plan and organise multi loads by creating effective schedules, using knowledge of driving routes, geography, and traffic patterns
• Negotiate with courier companies for set prices
• Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates to keep costs down where possible
• Streamline shipping and transportation processes
• Producing delivery notes as per works orders for the dispatch team
• Liaise with courier drivers on arrival, ensure all correct information and paperwork is given
• Work alongside the Dispatch team to ensure correct items are dispatched
• Check all loads before distribution is complete
• Updating systems for delivery dates
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Must have previous experience working in logistics and dispatch
• Highly organised and quick thinking to manage a fast paced, performance driven environment
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to both prioritise and multi-task, handling more than one situation or challenge at any given time
• The ability to thrive in an environment where the best made plans can change instantly or throughout the day
• Ability to manage and prioritise orders to meet production and delivery dates
• Methodical with attention to detail
• Communicate effectively with strong customer focus when liaising with project managers and site teams
• Actively seeking solutions to any problems occurring
• The ability to work in a professional office setting and factory environment
• Operating IT systems and applications
• Previous manufacturing industry experience highly desirable
