Summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Cardiology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We have the following three posts available:
Post 1: 06 August 2025 until 01 September 2026
Post 2: 03 September 2025 until 01 September 2026
Post 3: 03 September 2025 until 01 September 2026
These posts has been created to support the middle-grade Cardiology Service and is considered the equivalent of a Specialty Registrar.
These posts will provide an exciting opportunity for resident doctors hoping to gain excellent experience in clinical Cardiology within the context of a major UK Teaching Hospital. Previous Clinical Fellows have gone on to successfully gain a National Training Number in Cardiology or have moved on to a Consultant post.
The successful candidates will be expected to participate in the delivery of the Cardiology Service and may be required to contribute to General (Internal) Medicine on-calls and (subject to experience), the Cardiology StR out of hours on-call rota (1 in 5 to 1 in 8, non-resident).

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at the time of application is required.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

The Addenbrookes Department of Cardiology provides cardiac care to the population of Cambridgeshire and beyond (c. 450,000). The following services are provided, with opportunities for experience in all of these areas: Inpatients - 10-bed Coronary Care Unit, with 21-bed step down/general Cardiology ward; Outpatients - daily clinics, including Rapid Access Cardiology, Heart Failure, Cardiac Genetics, Obstetric Cardiology, AF Clinic; non-invasive investigations, including echocardiography (standard and complex) and rhythm monitoring; Catheter laboratory - angiography, permanent pacing, implantation of CRT and ICD devices; Imaging, including nuclear, CT, Cardiac MRI and PET.
