About the role

We are delighted to share an outstanding opportunity within the Tesco Marketing function for a Lead Media & Campaign Planning Manager!

This role focuses on planning the delivery and implementation of Food advertising campaigns that reach the whole nation, supporting the Media and Campaign planning team in leading the advertising spend of one of the largest advertisers in the UK!

You\'ll work at the very centre of the marketing team, connecting with our media agency (EssenceMediacom), creative agency (BBH) and channel guides to deliver effective data-lead media plans.

You will also need to have a flair for media planning, be able to lead multiple large media projects at once with confidence and be passionate about keeping up-to-date with the constantly evolving media landscape.

You will be responsible for

  • Leading all aspects of the media strategy, planning & buying of media for our seasonal and community marketing to ensure we improve the return from our investment in advertising.
  • Owning the creation of omnichannel communication plans, working closely with the Own Brand and Food Marketing team, to ensure that creative development is advised by the media plan and fit for platform.
  • Briefing and leading our \'Tesco Channel\' teams, from In-Store to Content to translate a campaign through-the-line. This includes Tesco Mag, Email, Social/PR, performance, etc.
  • Leading the total media budget across brand media campaigns, performance campaigns, and other \'Tesco Channel\' spend.
  • Connecting with channel guides to ensure the objectives of the activity are delivered across all channels, and that the work produced aligns with channel standard process.
  • Working with internal partners in the Insight team and external agencies such as Dunnhumby and Basis to build audience profiles and assess the efficiency of our media campaigns.
  • Ensuring the tracking/tagging/measurement of your campaigns is robust and fit-for-purpose (whether it be digital attribution or econometric modelling).
  • Communicating strategy and media planning with confidence to key customers across different areas of the business.
  • Supporting on wider Tesco media priorities, i.e. responsible advertising, measurement, AV planning, etc.
  • Developing relationships and working closely with key agencies (media, OOH, creative, insight, search, etc.).
  • Keeping up-to-date with the media landscape and meeting key media owners.

You will need

  • Experience with project and campaign planning.
  • Background in working with analytical and data-led insight.
  • Broad knowledge of marketing channels (paid, earned and owned) – including specific experience with digital marketing channels.
  • Confidence in addressing senior partners across a business.
  • Ability to deliver inspiring briefs and feedback.
  • Experience in developing impactful omnichannel communication.
  • Skilled in turning data into actionable insight.
  • Competence in crafting a distinctive brand positioning.
