An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Liaison Psychiatry Service . You will have a real passion for mental health care & be able to work in a challenging & dynamic environment.

As a Specialist Psychiatric Nurse you will be committed to providing high quality acute assessment in the Emergency Department & provide ongoing care & expertise to any patient admitted to our hospital with co-morbid psychiatric care needs. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from RMNs with experience of providing therapies, such as CBT or EMDR.

Therefore, we are seeking a confident & accomplished practitioner to join our accredited service & join the shared vision of 'high quality care for all'.

Your main duties include seeing, assessing & treating patients that are attending acute services, primarily in the Emergency Department. This may include delivering a range of nursing & psychosocial interventions to individual patients & their families, as appropriate. You are likely to be assisting & supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment & care in complex situations.

You will be working within a team but often as an autonomous clinical specialist within the general hospital. Your role also requires consultation, liaison & teaching general hospital staff at all levels.

The Service runs from 0700-2100hrs, 7days a week & you will be required to work shifts covering evenings & weekends for this. The Service may extend to provide 24hr care, with possible Commissioning changes.
