Join My Life’s Inspirational Team: Make a Real Difference with Us!
At My Life, we’re all about making a real difference in people's lives through our passionate and inspirational teams. Here, you won't just be working a job; you'll be contributing to meaningful community-based work that positively impacts lives every day.
My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. We pride ourselves on being a unique service. We offer personalised support to a diverse range of individuals living in their own homes. Each person has their own dedicated team, delivering support that’s tailored specifically to their needs and preferences. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach—it's about making sense for them and making a difference.
Meet *Michael
*Michael loves music, sport, swimming, and TV, and he values building strong, trusting relationships with the people who support him.
He is a wheelchair user with complex epilepsy and requires full support with all aspects of daily living — including personal care, medication, mealtimes, and general day-to-day tasks. He enjoys an active routine that includes physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and rebound therapy, and he thrives on getting out and about.
About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:
* Daily Living Support: Delivering respectful, person-centred personal care and
assisting with daily routines, meals and medication.
* Mobility Assistance: Use of hoists and other equipment to support safe transfers in
and out of his wheelchair, bed, and therapy environments.
* Epilepsy Management: Monitor for seizure activity, follow established epilepsy
care protocols, and respond calmly and effectively.
* Therapy Support: Accompany and assist *Michael during physiotherapy,
hydrotherapy, and rebound therapy sessions, ensuring his comfort and safety.
* Community Access: Support *Michael in accessing the community, including
attending leisure activities like swimming and sports events.
* Be a Friendly Confidant: Build a genuine connection with *Michael, providing
companionship, encouragement, and a positive vibe every day.
* Health & Well-being Monitoring: Look out for *Michael safety, well-being, and
overall happiness, always keeping communication open with his family and care
team.

expressions, and gestures.

weekends, to support Michael’s needs and activities.
* Engaging and Encouraging: You support *Michael in doing the things he enjoys,
whether it’s listening to music, watching sports, or getting out into the community.
* Driver: A full UK driving licence is essential, as you will need to drive a wheelchair-
accessible vehicle for outings and appointments.
