We're seeking a part time Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities team, one day a week 8.30am - 4.30pm, ideally mid week, but
we're open to discussion for the right candidate.




About The Grange Centre

The Grange Centre for People with Disabilities provides vital services supporting people with learning disabilities to lead
independent and fulfilling lives. We are unique in Surrey as we offer accommodation, care support and a wide range of skills
training and activities all on one beautiful 8 acre site in Bookham. Our services are most suited for people with mild to moderate
disabilities.

We are a regulated care provider, a charity and a housing association and we provide three services - residential care for those
with higher care needs, supported living for people working towards independence and skills and activities - a wide range of
training, work experience and mini businesses.




About The Role

You'll be working as part of the team responsible for all aspects of the maintenance, improvement, and presentation of The Grange
Centre’s properties and grounds. You may be asked to do jobs at the main Grange Centre site in Bookham, our house in Fetcham or
Epsom, our tenanted flats in Leatherhead or Bookham or our shop in Bookham. This includes delivery of an effective reactive
maintenance service, alongside a planned maintenance and enhancement programme to support delivery of the objectives of the
Strategic Plan.




Responsibilities:

* Maintenance Requests: Respond to and service requests from tenants and staff regarding maintenance of The Grange Centre’s
buildings, equipment, and vehicles.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance such as gutters, fences, and drainage.
* Have a working knowledge of central heating and boiler systems and undertake small maintenance tasks as required.
* Assist in decorating and furnishing accommodation and buildings where necessary.
* Undertake repairs including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks as required.
* Compile a preventative maintenance schedule together with the Line Manager for the buildings and be responsible for keeping
to this schedule.
* Support Building Projects: Assist the Line Manager with tasks on and off-site relating to building projects and systems.
* Site Plan Maintenance: Help maintain an up-to-date building site plan with details of service points, including Fire Alarm Call
Points where applicable.
* Fleet Management: Support the line manager in the fleet management of all Grange vehicles: their maintenance, servicing,
trading in after 3-4 years, selling & purchasing.
* Storage Facilities: Be responsible for onsite/offsite storage facilities and clearance/containers etc.
* Event Setup: Fulfil requirements for setting up rooms for meetings and events, and car parking arrangements as necessary.
* Equipment Research: Take the initiative in researching and identifying through online means the purchase of new equipment for
both on- and off-site requirements, liaising with the Line Manager accordingly.
* Programmed Work: Participate in programmed/cyclical work as per the works programme.
* Job Management System: Under the guidance of the Line Manager, download and distribute logged jobs from the Grange Job
Management System and seek advice where required.
* Team Collaboration: Operate as part of the team, attending meetings and undertaking training as necessary, as well as
supporting management and colleagues as required.
* Policy Compliance: Be aware of and comply with Grange Centre policies.
