About the role:
The post will lead on the current programme of work to recommission the
contract for operating the Older Peoples residential care homes owned by the
Council and the management of contract delivery. The post will also support the development and implementation of the strategic redesign of the current care home provision and service.
About you:
You will:
• Be committed to improving the quality of care home accommodation for
vulnerable and frail older people and the service that the council commissions
• Enjoy analysing and understanding complex issues and be confident to offer innovative and creative solutions
• Demonstrate an understanding of social care services for older people in Wales and the issues affecting care home services for older people
• Understand the challenges of providing effective social care services in a large and sparsely populated rural setting
• Have a demonstrable commitment to person centred care
What you will do:
You will:
• Provide strategic leadership and effective management for a complex strategic programme
• Develop and manage all aspects of project and programme engagement from planning, deployment, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues and manage project scope and changes
• Plan and deliver the procurement process for the service within timescales
• Prepare and present reports on project status in order to provide accurate and clear information to stakeholders, elected members, executive directors, heads of services and senior managers
• Prepare detailed project plans for all phases of programme
• Provide guidance and support to Elected Members, colleagues and partners to enable effective decision making and the highest standards of corporate
governance
