Summary
The post involves assisting with packing of goods for shipping and overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory management, and supervising warehouse staff. Manage the receiving, storing, and shipping of goods, while also maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervision:
Oversee and manage warehouse staff, including training, performance evaluations, and dealing with any issues that arise.
· Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records, track stock levels, and ensure proper storage practices.
· Operations:
Assist with packing and also manage the flow of goods within the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping orders.
· Safety:
Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure a safe working environment.
· Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
· Communication:
Communicate effectively with staff, management, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
· Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve issues that may arise in the warehouse, such as delays, discrepancies, or safety concerns.
· Performance Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in warehouse operations and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Leadership and Supervisory Skills:
Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and provide constructive feedback.
· Inventory Management Skills:
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and best practices for inventory control.
· Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and other departments.
· Organizational Skills:
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
· Safety Knowledge:
Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
· Computer Skills:
Proficiency in using computer systems and software for inventory management and other tasks.
· Experience:
Prior experience in warehouse operations, particularly in a supervisory role.
