Summary
Responsible to communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, their relative/carers, nurse colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure care is delivered in an accurate and efficient manner. Responsibility to participate in team building/communication, to develop and consolidate a cohesive and supportive team. Responsibility in dealing with sensitive information concerning patients medical condition at handover between staff. Responsible to identify, discuss and report any relevant nursing/patient needs with team/ ENT staff, patients. Responsible to support and advice to patients and relatives when faced with distressing situations. Accept responsibility; be aware and able to locate all policies relating to good working practice within the clinical area and able to adhere to both by self and colleagues. Maintain accurate and legible records of patient care in line with Trust policies and NMC Code of Conduct. Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies pertaining to patient confidentiality/ the Data Protection Act/Caldicott Recommendations.
