Crynodeb

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in your local office at least 2 days a week.

As the UK’s largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.

Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.

What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people!

Joining us as an IP Capacity Planner

As an IP Capacity Planner, you will be accountable for planning and delivering our active service portfolio, including system and network administration, and project management. You will work closely with Network Architects and Engineers to optimise network performance and ensure operational excellence. This role is crucial for driving a lean operating model through automation and AI.

You’ll receive a salary of up to £65,000, a performance related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

Model and monitor new active city networks

Identify and augment the existing network as required

Deliver short, medium, and long-term forecasts for all network components

Incrementally improve network capacity monitoring and operational excellence using automation and AI

Work with vendors to secure a repeatable supply chain

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent analytics and mathematical skills, and well-developed troubleshooting methodologies. You’ll also have:

Experience with network troubleshooting and telemetry tools

Familiarity with virtualisation platforms, particularly QEMU (Quick Emulator) / KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine)

Programming skills in Perl, Rest, Shell, or Python

Good understanding of layer 2 & 3 technologies with an emphasis on Ethernet

Excellent understanding of platform monitoring and analytics tools
