Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. You will be joining their site based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

About the Control Systems Engineer role
The Control System Engineer will be responsible for producing the Control System Engineering deliverables for a work pack/sub-system or project. You will be producing technical solutions to complex engineering projects which can include concept design, detailed design, calculations, analysis and technical reports/documentation.
Other responsibilities of the Control Systems Engineer include:
Executing design tasks in accordance with direction and guidance from Lead and Senior Engineers.
Interpreting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical requirements to ensure that the Control System Design performs as per the client / project requirements.
Writing of project technical documentation such as Software Specification and other technical specifications.
Ensuring that product safety is addressed throughout the design process so that a robust safety case can be produced.
About You
The successful Control Systems Engineer will have over 2 years’ experience in engineering design and development with the knowledge and experience in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
Other requirements of the Control Systems Engineer include:
Knowledge and experience in design, manufacture and operation of some or all of the following: Trenchers, Cable/Pipe lay, LARS and bespoke onshore and Offshore equipment.
As a minimum, educated to an Engineering Degree level ( BEng or MEng)
Member of recognised Engineering body (eg IMechE or IET) or working towards this
Awareness and appreciation of market trends and emerging technologies
Understand the importance of project timescales and budgets, reports progress and hours promptly and accurately.
