Bench/Field Service Engineer
Based in Woking, Surrey GU21 5SA – full UK driving licence essential
Salary £13.10 per hour/ £27,248 based on 40-hour week + additional on call payment
40 hour per week full time, permanent.
Job description:
This is a joint role supporting both the onsite workshop and the field service engineers. This role also includes being on the on-call, out of hours rota.
The workshop role consists of the repairs and reconditioning of wheelchairs and submitting quotes.
The role of the Field service engineer is to carry out repairs and maintenance to the wheelchairs within clients’ own homes.
Skills and Qualifications required:
General workshop knowledge
Basic mechanical knowledge
Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment change
Ability to work on your own initiative
Effective team worker
Organised, reliable and possess good time keeping
Physical demands of the job:
Moving and handling of equipment and accessories following handling guidelines
Standing at a bench to work
Kneeling/crouching
Use of ramps and any other agreed moving equipment
Ideally you will possess an engineering background, but full training will be given for the right applicant.
You need to be able to work in a fast-moving environment, able to maintain accurate and detailed records. Be able to communicate well with both team members and clients in their own home.
Full UK driving licenses required.
