Job Responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices and payment receipts
  • Completing quarterly VAT returns
  • Reconciling bank accounts, debtors, and creditors
  • Preparing income statements
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all financial records
  • Using SAGE accounting software to generate financial reports, including monthly management reports for board meetings
  • Tracking daily transactions and reconciling intercompany transactions with the subsidiary company
  • Preparing the books for the accounting team and assisting in finalising accounts through internal audits of all transactions
  • Completing PAYE journals monthly
  • Creating and submitting payment requests for suppliers
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Performing various administrative duties to support the day-to-day running of the company

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in SAGE accounting software
  • Strong understanding of accounts processes and general accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (AAT or equivalent preferred)
  • Experience with payroll processing and PAYE regulations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
