As a Swimming Teacher – Level 2 what does the role entail:
You should have experience in delivering swimming lessons and hold a Swim England Swimming Teachers Certificate Level 2 (current).

You will deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the YMCA programme and the ASA National Plan, enabling all individuals to participate and progress. To be successful in this role you should adhere at all times to standards of personal and professional behaviour which reflect a positive image of the YMCA.

Your day will consist of …

• To create a supportive environment in which participants may improve their skills and enjoy swimming.
• To be aware of any medical, psychological or special needs of the participants.
• To be responsible for the Health & Safety of course participants.
• To set up, care for and put away course equipment.
• To plan, monitor and evaluate all sessions, keeping a register of attendance and accurate records of participants’ progress.
• To be responsible for the continual assessment of the course participants and the distributing of appropriate awards.

This job is for you, if…

• You have a ASA / STA Swimming Teachers Certificate Level 2 (current)
• You have a RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Certificate (current) – Desirable – not essential
• You have experience in teaching children’s swimming lessons at all levels
• You have a commitment to team-working and respect and consideration for the skills of others.
• You understand the need for confidentiality with a professional and caring approach to work.
• You enjoy working in a busy, fast paced environment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
