Our client is a leading UK-based precision engineering company delivering high-specification components to industries such as Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Power Generation, and Rail are looking to recruit a CNC Turning Programmer.

Operating from their state-of-the-art facility in Coventry, they provide a complete in-house service offering CNC machining, EDM, grinding, deep hole drilling, and inspection.

As part of their ongoing growth, Ambitek are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Turning Programmer to join their manufacturing team

Role Overview

As a CNC Turning Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for a range of complex components. You’ll work closely with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to ensure that components are produced efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Program CNC lathes (Fanuc/Siemens controls) from engineering drawings and 3D models

Set up and operate CNC turning machines when required

Develop efficient and safe machining strategies

Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials

Support the shop floor with troubleshooting and adjustments

Ensure all parts meet required tolerances and quality standards

Continuously improve cycle times and reduce waste

Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and tooling

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience as a CNC Turning Programmer in a precision engineering environment

Proficiency with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and material properties

Skilled in using CAM software (e.g., EdgeCAM, Mastercam, or similar)

Experience machining high-value, exotic materials (e.g., Inconel, Hastelloy, stainless steels)

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Qualifications

Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or manufacturing engineering

Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality systems

Experience with offline programming or 3D CAD/CAM integration

Hours Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00
