About Us:
We are a small, family-run business specialising in engraved trophies, medals, and awards. We take pride in delivering high-quality, personalised products to our customers, providing a friendly and professional service. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Machine Engraving Technician & Retail Assistant.
Role Overview:
This is a hands-on role where you will operate CAD-based engraving machines to personalise trophies and medals, assemble finished products, and assist customers in-store and over the phone. You will also handle order processing, invoicing, and debt collection to ensure smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Machine Engraving & Assembly
o Use CAD software to design and engrave trophies, medals, and plaques.
o Set up and operate engraving machines with precision and attention to detail.
o Assemble and inspect finished products for quality assurance.
• Retail & Customer Service
o Serve customers in-store, offering product advice and taking orders.
o Handle telephone inquiries, process orders, and provide excellent customer support.
• Administrative Tasks
o Raise invoices and process payments.
o Follow up on outstanding invoices and manage debt collection.
o Maintain accurate records of orders and customer details.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Confident IT Skills to use technical and administration software.
2. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
3. Customer service experience in a retail or sales environment.
4. Ability to multitask between engraving, assembly, and administrative duties.
5. Basic administration skills raising invoices, processing payments
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. Experience using CAD software (e.g., CorelDRAW, Gravostyle, AutoCAD) for engraving.
2. Previous experience with engraving machines or a similar production process.
3. Knowledge of trophy and medal customization industry.
4. Confidence in handling cash, card payments, and invoicing software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
5. Ability to work in a small team and take initiative.
6. A creative eye for engraving design and layout.
