Crynodeb

The Eating Disorders Service provides specialist evidence-based treatments on an individual and family basis for children, adolescents and adults with an eating disorder. The team also provides consultation, supervision and joint assessment, working with the Child and Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Services across Gloucestershire. The team provides advice, consultation and training to primary care, social care, voluntary and educational staff as well as members of the public. The team promotes an awareness of eating disorders and appropriate interventions to the wider public. The Highly Specialist Clinician will be jointly responsible with the Operational Lead, Lead Psychologist and Psychiatrists for the development of the community team. The post holder will be required to provide highly specialistassessment and intervention (individual and group), in accordance with the evidencebase; to provide clinical supervision for team members; to provide consultation tocolleagues in the Trust; to undertake research, and to participate in personal CPDand the provision of training to the eating disorders team and to the wider service. The post holder will be professionally accountable for their work and will work withinthe ethical code of practice of the relevant professional body. He or she will be requiredto work within the framework of the Services policies and procedures, and willsupervise, manage and support the work of less qualified team members and trainees.This post primarily involves assessment, including assessment andmonitoring of risk, formulating, planning and implementing both individual and groupinterventions; consultancy to and supervision of a range of staff inmental health services; teaching and training; service audit/evaluation and researchincluding guidance and supervision on relevant projects; case management and care co-ordination of their own clinical caseload.
