Position – Project Lead – St Giles’ Food Share and Pantry Club
Location – No 6, The Circle, Chequerfield, Pontefract
Contract – Initially until the end of August, (Contract date will be reviewed as it is subject to funding)
Hours – 20 hours per week @ £12.21 per hour.
Core Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Friday Mornings
Additional hours may be done flexibly in line with the needs of the project
Introduction
Due to the retirement of the current project leader, the Vicar and PCC of St Giles are now looking to appoint a new project leader for this project based on Chequerfield. The right candidate will be someone who is looking to work in the charity sector, and is comfortable working with a variety of volunteers and organisations who have a heart to help those most at need within the community.
Initially the contract will be until the end of August, however, we are actively seeking to secure funding to continue this important outreach into our community.
This is an exciting time in the life of the project and the new project leader will be working closely with the Oversight and Governance Committee as we continue to develop the outreach we provide, whilst also looking towards securing the future of the project.
The new project leader needs to be an energetic person who is able to engage with all members of society, someone who has a heart to help others, whatever their circumstances and understands the current ‘food need’ that is so evident in peoples lives today. They also need to be able to confidently create strong relationships with other local food providers, and play an integral part in ensuring the longevity of the project.
We are looking to appoint the right candidate as soon as possible so that there is a period of handover, before the current project lead retires in early April. The Vicar and PCC are committed to this project and the vital services it provides to those who are in need. To that end, even though the initial appointment is for a short period, we are actively looking to secure the operational grants to allow this work to continue.
An enhanced DBS Disclosure and successful completion of Church of England Safeguarding training will be required for the successful applicant.
Specific Responsibilities
